Police arrested a man this week for allegedly attempting to use a local child to create sexually explicit content.

Jesse Ray Hawkinson, 62, of White City, was arrested by the Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team, a joint interagency task force, and Jackson County sheriff’s deputies. He has since been released from the Jackson County Jail on bail.

Police arrested Hawkinson at around 7 a.m. Monday at his residence in the 8300 block of 24th Street. SOCET served a search warrant at the location April 28 after the Oregon Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division received a report of a possible sexual abuse of a juvenile girl.
