Felony arrests

Identity Theft — Matthew David Arena, 48, no known address. Ashland police arrested Arena Wednesday on four felony counts of identity theft, misdemeanor charges of fraudulent use of a credit card, second-degree theft and on warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree trespassing and possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday and released Thursday on his own recognizance.

Burglary — David Paul Talbott, 64, of the 1500 block of North Valley View Road, Ashland. Phoenix police arrested Talbott Wednesday on felony charges of first-degree burglary and coercion, and on misdemeanor charges of menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct, first-degree trespassing and harassment. He was held in jail Friday without bail.

Theft — David Michael Demello, 29, of the 6500 block of Crowfoot Road, Trail. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Demello Thursday on a new felony charge of first-degree theft and a new misdemeanor charge of second-degree theft. Medford police originally arrested Demello on charges of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, reckless driving, for failing to appear in court on charges of second-degree burglary and second-degree trespassing and for violating his probation on prior heroin, methamphetamine, supplying contraband and first-degree theft convictions. He was held in jail Friday on $72,500 bail.

Attempted Arson — Thomas William Marr, 65, of the 900 block of North Mountain Avenue, Ashland. On Thursday, Marr made an appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of attempted first-degree arson and on misdemeanor charges of reckless burning, recklessly endangering another person, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree disorderly conduct and second-degree theft. He was held in jail Friday on $50,000 bail.

Vehicle Theft — Ronald Charles Nunn III, 32, of the 200 block of Orr Drive, Central Point. Medford police arrested Nunn Thursday on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and for violating his probation on a prior conviction for attempting to elude police in a vehicle. He was held in jail Friday without bail.
