Restaurant Inspections

Jackson County health inspectors evaluated 110 restaurants in October. All passed their semi-annual inspections.

The following restaurants received perfect scores of 100:

  • Artisan Bakery Café, Medford;
  • Big Town Hero, Ashland;
  • Dolly Varden's Cafe Inc., Medford;
  • Duck In Deli, Medford;
  • Human Bean of Rossanley, Rossanley Road, Medford;
  • Prospect Historic Hotel, Prospect;
  • R & D Sandwich Factory, Medford;
  • Subway Eagle Point Wal-Mart, Eagle Point;
  • Subway Sandwiches No. 20833, North Phoenix Road, Medford;
  • Table Rock Coffee Co., White City.

The following restaurants received passing scores of 70 points or higher:

  • Abby's Pizza Inn of Rogue River, Rogue River: 87;
  • Allyson's Kitchen, Ashland: 93;
  • Applebee's Grill & Bar, Medford: 72;
  • Arbor House International, Talent: 99;
  • Asian Grill, Medford: 81;
  • The Bad Ass Coffee Co., South Riverside Avenue, Medford: 97;
  • Barbwire Grill, Eagle Point: 93;
  • Bellisima Catering, Ashland: 96;
  • Black Oak Deli, Medford: 98;
  • Buzzed Coffee, Medford: 92;
  • Cascade Gorge Restaurant, Shady Cove: 98;
  • Celena's Grill, Medford: 92;
  • Chateaulin Restaurant & Wine Shop Inc., Ashland: 97;
  • Chewy's Coffee & Eatery, Medford: 97;
  • Country Kitchen & Pizza, Gold Hill: 86.

Inspectors subtract points for critical violations, which include: foods held at improper temperatures, improperly cooled or reheated, not properly protected from contamination, from unapproved origins, unsafe, adulterated, or not honestly presented, not date-marked or discarded upon expiration; raw animal foods improperly cooked; presence of rodents or insects; inadequate personal hygiene; failure to clean and sanitize food equipment; lack of an approved water system; toxic chemicals or cleansers not properly stored, used, or labeled.
