Restaurant Inspections

Jackson County health inspectors evaluated 39 restaurants in July. All passed their semiannual inspections, and two received perfect scores of 100. All scores are published in weekly portions. The following restaurants received perfect scores of 100:

  • Mamma Mia Gelateria, Jacksonville;
  • Ubhill One, Jackson County Fairgrounds, Central Point.

The following restaurants received passing scores of 70 points or higher:

  • Antonio's, Eagle Point — 91;
  • Aryon's Open Door Island Cafe, Central Point — 99;
  • Avalon Bar & Grill, Talent — 92;
  • Barney's Better Burgers, Medford — 97;
  • Bear Creek Operations Cafeteria, Medford — 99;
  • Bento East, Ashland — 93;
  • The Brick Bar & Grill, Central Point — 93;
  • The Burger Cafe, Medford — 92;
  • Cafe Namaste, Ashland — 96;
  • The Cupcake Daily, Talent — 98;
  • Deja Vu Bistro & Wine Bar, Jacksonville — 93;
  • Fry Basket, Medford — 96;
  • Gold Dust Cafe, Jacksonville — 95;
  • Habaneros, Medford — 90;
  • House of Thai Cuisine, Ashland — 92;
  • Human Bean, East Barnett Road, Medford — 96;
  • Jackson Creek Pizza Co., West Main Street, Medford — 92.

Inspectors subtract points for critical violations, which include: foods maintained at improper temperatures, improperly cooled or reheated; not properly protected from contamination, from unapproved origins, unsafe, adulterated or not honestly presented; not date-marked or discarded upon expiration; raw animal foods improperly cooked; presence of rodents or insects; inadequate personal hygiene; failure to clean and sanitize food equipment; lack of an approved water system; toxic chemicals or cleansers not properly stored, used or labeled.
