Medford schools schedule timetable for start

The Medford School District has set dates for registration and the first day of school for its nearly 12,000 students.

The first day of school differs for each campus because of pending construction and early start dates for high school freshmen and sophomores.

Secondary classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 8, for freshmen at North Medford High School, freshmen and sophomores at South Medford High School and all grade levels at Medford Opportunity High School.

The first day of school is Wednesday, Sept. 9, for sophomores, juniors and seniors at North Medford, juniors and seniors at South Medford and all returning pupils at Hedrick and McLoughlin middle schools.

At Hedrick, all new students, whether a seventh-grader or an eighth-grader new to the school, will begin classes Sept. 8. Seventh-graders at McLoughlin also will begin the school year Sept. 8.

The district's elementary schools have a number of start dates.

Kindergartners begin class Friday, Sept. 11, and grades 1 through 6 start Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Abraham Lincoln, Griffin Creek, Hoover, Jacksonville and Ruch schools.

The start dates are Monday, Sept. 14, for kindergartners and Tuesday, Sept. 8 for first-through-sixth-graders at Howard, Jefferson, Kennedy, Jackson, Roosevelt, Washington and Wilson schools.

Lone Pine Elementary School kicks off classes Tuesday, Sept. 15, for kindergartners and Thursday, Sept. 10, for grades 1 through 6.

Oak Grove Elementary School's kindergarten classes start Tuesday, Sept. 15. In grades 1 through 6, classes begin Wednesday, Sept. 9.

All grade levels at Madrone Trail Public Charter School start Tuesday, Sept. 8.
