Drug complaints close to Jefferson Elementary School prompt arrest
A Medford man remained in jail on nearly $500,000 bail Tuesday after he was arrested on charges of selling methamphetamine near Jefferson Elementary School.
After getting complaints about drug sales near the school, the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Team on Thursday searched the home of Lynn Franklin Guy Jr. at 1512 Kenyon St., Medford. Officers found a quarter of an ounce of meth, scales and packaging materials, said Lt. Tim Doney, who heads the drug enforcement team.
Guy, who has past convictions for possession of meth and cocaine, was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $490,000 when he was arraigned in Jackson County Circuit Court on Friday.
At his court appearance he also pleaded not guilty to a possession of meth charge from July. That charge has a $5,000 bail.
