ASHLAND — An Interfaith Solstice Walk will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 44 N. Second St.

The public is invited to celebrate the winter solstice and interfaith candlelit labyrinth walk in the garden at the historic church. Beginning at 5 p.m., gatherers will walk the outside labyrinth holding candles. Afterwards all are invited to the Parish Hall to enjoy hot cider and fresh-baked cookies. At 6 p.m. an informal program by leaders of various faiths will be presented. Richard Moeschl, local astronomer and editor of the Mail Tribune's Tempo section, will discuss the stars' position during the winter solstice. For more information call 482-2656.

JACKSONVILLE — St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 305 N. Fifth St., will celebrate the Advent season with Holy Communion at 10:30 a.m.. Sunday, and a Litany Service on Sunday, Dec. 30.

There will be a special Christmas Holy Communion service at 5 p.m. Christmas Eve, with refreshments afterward. For more information or if transportation is required call 899-1956 and leave a message.

ASHLAND — Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 7 Fourth Street, will host a service Monday featuring childhood Christmas recollections by members who lived outside the U.S.

Choir music will include a Huron Indian carol and a Spanish lullaby.

The service begins at 10:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve. A 7 p.m. candlelight service will present music, readings, stories, and the traditional passing of the flame. For more information check www.rvuuf.com on the Web call the church at 482-4755 or 261-0378.

PHOENIX — First Presbyterian Church, 121 W. Second St., will have a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m.

ASHLAND — A Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will take place from 7 to 8 p.m Monday at the Ashland Springs Hotel, 212 E. Main St.

A reverent, joyful observance includes traditional carols and a candle-lighting ceremony, with additional music of the season by Gypsy Soul, with guest speaker Neale Donald Walsch, author of "Conversations with God."

MEDFORD — Set Free and New Life Christian fellowships will host a Christmas Eve program at 6 p.m. Monday at the Ministry Center, 1032 W. Main St.

There will be a special Christmas children's story, Christmas songs, a short message and a candlelight finale. For more information call 773-4004.

ASHLAND — At 7:30 p.m. Monday, Rabbi David Zaslow, spiritual leader of the Havurah Shir Hadash, will teach a class on "Israel, Zionism & Anti-Semitism" as part of an ongoing series on Jewish spirituality.
