Rev. Jim Hatton will speak at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Center For Spiritual Living, 1119 Ellen Ave., Medford. His sermon topic will be "God Talks To The Heart." At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland will focus on Unitarian and Universalist congregational singing in the U.S., including the diversity of belief, religious background and ethnic origin. A summer preschool program is provided for children 5 and younger.

The First Presbyterian Church of Central Point invites young musicians and singers to be a part of a new "contemporary" worship service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at the church, 456 West Pine St., Central Point. The contemporary worship service will feature Youth Music Director Gary Carlson, who is an instrumentalist and singer. Hot dogs, watermelon, dessert and lemonade will be served, and nursery care will be available.

The contemporary service is in addition to the traditional worship service at 10 a.m. Rev. Terry Graunke will be the minister for both services. For more information, call 541-664-1828.

A new Buddhist meditation group will begin meeting at 7 p.m. Thursdays, starting Aug. 11, in the library of the Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland. Meetings are open to the public. An ongoing Buddhist meditation group meets from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, also in the library, followed by tea.
