Hope Christian Church will hold a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, at the church, 325 Oak St., Central Point. The service will include special music, Christmas carols and a candlelight communion service. For more information, call 541-664-3905.

A family-friendly service of lessons and carols will be presented at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, at First United Methodist Church of Ashland, 175 N. Main St. The service will include a performance from the Chancel Choir, with a guest appearance by Peanuts character "Sherman."

A Christmas communion service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, at the church. Call 541-482-3647.

In lieu of the service on Christmas Day, the Center for Spiritual Living will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, at the center, 1119 Ellen Ave., Medford.

Services beginning Jan. 1 will be held at the center's new location at 3581 Lear Way in Medford.

First Presbyterian Church will celebrate Christmas Eve with a dramatic re-telling of Martin Luther's Christmas Book at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, at the church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford.

The church will offer one informal "come as you are" service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, at the church. Children are welcome to wear pajamas, and an award will be given to the child with the best "bed head" hairstyle. For information, call 541-776-5308.

Celebrate the return of the light with a special Nia Hanukkah celebration at 7:30 p.m. on the last night of Hanukkah, Tuesday, Dec. 27, the Havurah synagogue, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Nia teacher-trainer Rachael R. Resch and Rabbi David Zaslow will host an evening of Nia Dance to celebrate the return of the light. All are welcome, and cost is a sliding scale from $2 to $25. The Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will host "Getting to Know RVUUF: A Day of Learning and Conversation" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland. The workshop is for newcomers and anyone who wants to explore his or her theological leanings, and learn more about how Unitarian Universalism differs from other religions.
