Voter registration deadline for special election approaching
Jackson County residents who want to vote in the special election held Jan. 23, 2018 must be registered in the state by Tuesday, Jan. 2, according to the Jackson County Clerk's Office.
The election includes Measure 101, which would tax insurance companies and some hospitals in order to to fund Medicaid in Oregon.
If you are currently registered in Oregon, but have moved, changed your mailing address or your name, you also will need to update your registration. Ballots can't be forwarded. You can update your information online at www.oregonvotes.gov, or by calling the Jackson County Elections office at 541-774-6148. Residents can also visit the office in person at 1101 W. Main St., No. 201, in Medford.
The ballot drop at Jackson County Elections, 1101 W. Main St., Medford, opens Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 (24-Hour, drive-up). The main office will be open Monday, Jan. 8, and will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional drop site locations will officially open Monday, Jan. 8. Voters may drop their ballots off at the following locations:
- Central Point Library, 116 S. 3 rd St., Central Point (24-Hour)
- Eagle Point Library, 239 W. Main St., Eagle Point (24- Hour)
- Ashland Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. Ashland (24-Hour)Rogue River Library, 412 E. Main St. Rogue River (24-Hour)
- Phoenix Library, 510 W. First St. Phoenix (24-Hour)
All drop sites are open until 8 p.m. election day.
