ScienceWorks brews up a fundraiser

Local report

ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum will hold its 12th annual Brews and Boogie event — a beer festival and dance party for people 21 and older, at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at the museum, 1500 E. Main St.

The fundraiser benefits ScienceWorks education programs that serve more than 10,000 school children annually from Southern Oregon and Northern California.

The party will include live music from The Rogue Suspects and Slow Corpse. DJ G-Rad will mix between sets. Guests will be able to sample from 12 regional breweries, Apple Outlaw will pour a selection of hard cider and local wines will be available.

Food will be available from Brickroom, Great American Pizza Co. and Pentomino Specialty Foods, and carnival games with prizes will be offered.

Tickets are $15 in advance. They are available online and at Music Coop in Ashland and Grocery Outlet in Medford. Cost is $20 at the door. Designated drivers get a $5 discount off admission.
