Turkeys needed for families
The Salvation Army Medford Citadel Corps is in need of turkeys to distribute to families at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22.
The Salvation Army will hand out turkeys to families in need at the parking lot next to its Thrift Store at 922 N. Central Ave., Medford. It hopes to give out a minimum of 300 turkeys and is accepting donations from the community.
Two main contributors in this effort are Les Schwab and Rebelle Home.

Teen Library collects warm clothes for kids
The Medford Teen Library will collect donations of warm winter accessories such as hats, scarves, mittens, gloves and socks the entire month of December to benefit the Maslow Project for teens in need. Basic hygiene supplies also will gladly be accepted.
The Maslow Project provides support services to homeless youth up to age 21 and their families throughout Jackson County.

Holiday meal drive on now at Safeway, Albertsons
KOBI-TV/NBC5 and KOTI-TV/NBC2 are partnering with Safeway, Albertsons, US Bank and Jackson Care Connect for the third annual Great Holiday Meal Drive in November and December.
Last year the drive raised more than $200,000 and provided 3,855 meals to local families.
People can donate to the Great Holiday Meal Drive by purchasing $1, $5 and $10 Turkey and Santa Buck tax-exempt donations at any Southern Oregon Safeway or Albertsons checkout stand. Custom donations are also accepted.
Salvation Army needs bell ringers
The Salvation Army is hiring bell ringers to supervise the red kettles where people can drop their donations at various venues to help needy families.
Those hired will receive minimum wage. Applications for the positions can be picked up at 304 Beatty St., Medford, and are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays through Nov. 22.

The Salvation Army Medford Citadel Corps is signing up families in Jackson County for Christmas assistance of both food and gifts. The organization plans to assist 700 to 800 families, providing holiday food baskets and toys and gifts for children from newborn through age 17.
The final signup will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Salvation Army Medford Citadel Corps, 304 Beatty St., Medford. Earlier signups were held in November. For more information, call 541-773-6965.

People can donate to nonprofit groups all across Oregon Nov. 29 during #GivingTuesday.
All donations received at oregoniansgive.org go directly to participating organizations. In 2015, #OregoniansGive helped raise more than $1.8 million for more than 700 nonprofits, representing nearly every county in Oregon.
For the 2016 campaign, #OregoniansGive plans to reach $3.5 million in donations and engage more than 1,000 nonprofits representing all 36 Oregon counties in a 24-hour time period.
