Wreath-laying honors veterans
Eagle Point National Cemetery will host Wreaths Across America, a holiday wreath-laying ceremony to honor and remember the nation’s veterans, at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the cemetery, 2763 Riley Road, Eagle Point.
Civil Air Patrol, Old Guard Riders, veterans service organizations and citizens are coordinating the event to honor veterans of each branch of the military, the Merchant Marines as well as prisoners of war and those still missing in action.
The Worcester Wreath Co., through the Wreaths Across America campaign, began donating holiday wreaths in tribute to veterans laid to rest at state and Veterans Affairs national cemeteries in 2006. Civil Air Patrol/Old Guard Riders are coordinating the wreath ceremony as a part of the campaign.
