Pear Blossom Run: Register for the 42nd Annual YMCA Pear Blossom Run happening April 14, in downtown Medford. There will be a 10-mile race, a 10-mile handcycle or wheelchair race, a 5K race and 1- and 2-mile fun runs. Registration is $30, $23 or $8 for the 10-mile, 5K and fun runs, respectively. Registration will be $40 for the 10-mile and $33 for the 5K after April 8. Proceeds benefit YMCA’s programs for low-income kids, teens, families and seniors. Make-A-Blanket Day: Join others in sewing, knitting or crocheting a blanket for Project Linus from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in the Community room at The Meadows, 555 Freeman Road, Central Point. Lunch will be provided. For quilters, a precut quilt top will be provided; please bring a small cutting board, sewing machine and supplies and extension cord. Crocheters and knitters must bring all their own supplies. The mission of Project Linus is to provide warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets.
