Schneider Museum of Art: “The Animated Image,” a collection of artwork by Matt Bollinger, Chris Doyle, Rick Silva and Stacey Steers, will open Wednesday, April 11, and run through May 12 at the Schneider Museum of Art, 555 Indiana St., on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland. The show is presented in conjunction with the Ashland Independent Film Festival. A reception for the artists will be at 5 p.m. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Center for the Visual Arts: New student art exhibits will be displayed through Friday, April 20, in the Art and Marion Ady buildings, corner of Siskiyou Boulevard and Indiana Street at Southern Oregon University in Ashland. Art Exhibit: Artist Ruth Resch will present an exhibit of her art works, “Into the Wilderness,” through Friday, April 27, at the U.S. Bank, 30 N. Second St., Ashland. Resch’s work includes paintings, mono prints and a variety of drawings.

History Lecture: Local historian Ben Truwe will present “Grace Visits the Rogue River Valley” from1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the Jackson County Genealogy Library, 3405 S. Pacific Highway, Medford. “Grace Visits the Rogue River Valley” is the title of a promo film made in 1915 showing Jackson County scenes and history. Rock Garden Society: The North American Rock Garden Society Siskiyou Chapter will hold a special meeting to host Kit Strange, bulb expert and horticulturist, who will give a talk, “Travels in Armenia,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in Lidgate Hall behind Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St., Medford. Strange has traveled extensively in the Caucasus Mountains of West Asia looking for alpine bulbs and participating in plant conservation partnerships.
