Woman killed in Highway 140 crash
A woman died in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 140 and Kershaw Road Tuesday afternoon.
A preliminary investigation showed a Ford SUV went through the intersection “without regard for the stop sign or flashing red stop light” and was struck by a motorhome traveling eastbound on Highway 140, according to Oregon State Police.
The impact rolled the SUV, ejecting a female passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders attempted lifesaving measures. The woman’s name was not immediately released pending next of kin notification.
The SUV’s driver and another passenger were transported to a local hospital, OSP reported. Their conditions were not immediately available.
An occupant from the motorhome was also transported to a hospital with injuries. The extent of the injuries was not immediately known.
Highway 140 was closed at Highway 62 following the accident, and westbound Highway 140 traffic was rerouted onto Riley Road, according to Oregon Department of Transportation spokesman Gary Leaming.
