Free masks, sanitizer offered to businesses
The Expo is offering another free batch of COVID-19 safety supplies to businesses in order to help curb the spread of the virus in the community.
Business Oregon and the Jackson County Emergency Operations Center have teamed up to distribute another allotment of personal protective equipment.
“Business Oregon continues to provide PPE for our local businesses free of charge in order to lessen the burden of operating safely during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Helen Funk of the Jackson County Emergency Operations Distribution Center.
The distribution center has been set up at The Expo, located at 1 Peninger Road outside Central Point. The center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday, May 16, through Tuesday, May 18. Business representatives can drop by during those hours to pick up supplies. Enter through Gate 3 to reach the center.
The supplies are available for all Oregon-based businesses and have been packaged for noncontact distribution. Packages contain a supply of personal protective equipment based on the size of a business.
The packages include surgical masks, liquid and spray sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, nonsterile gloves in sizes large and extra large, and an optional no-touch thermometer.
Funk said there likely will be another supply distribution event at the end of May and another in June. The Expo has hosted numerous supply distribution events during the pandemic.
