Virtual open house on north Medford interchange available

A virtual open house detailing planned transportation improvements on the Highway 62 and north Medford interchange area will be available online through June 25.

The open house can be viewed at odotopenhouse.org/i-5-exit-30-iamp.

The plan, called the Exit 30 Interchange Area Management Plan, looks at possible transportation improvements from the intersection of highways 238, 99 and 62 — also called the Big X — east through the exit 30 interchange area to Delta Waters Road, according to a news release.

Congestion continues to affect the area, ODOT planners said. The plan is intended to identify improvements that will move motorists through the area more safely and efficiently.

There are no design or construction funds yet attached to the project.

Input gleaned from the virtual open house will help update the final interchange area management plan, and a full Highway 62 corridor study will review suggested improvements from the north Medford interchange out to White City.

The plan would go before the Oregon Transportation Commission and the city of Medford in 2024 for approval.
