Mountain of the Rogue closed until further notice
The Bureau of Land Management has temporarily closed all BLM-managed public lands, roads, sites and trails in the Mountain of the Rogue Recreation Area because of current and recent wildfires in the area.
The closure of the Mountain of the Rogue will also “reduce conflicts with emergency crews and allow for fire suppression and repair, and to allow for burned area site recovery, as well as to ensure public safety, land health, and resource integrity,” a BLM report said.
Violating the BLM order can result in a fine, up to 12 months imprisonment or both.
The park will be indefinitely closed until conditions allow for safe use of the park.
