Rogue Eagles to host first aviation camp
The Rogue Eagles Radio Control Club is holding its first Aviation Summer Camp for seventh- through ninth-graders, July 15-17.
Attendance is limited to the first 15 students who apply. Cost is $25 per student. To apply, send an email to Art Kelly at firstname.lastname@example.org, specifying the number of middle school students in your household who would like to participate. The Rogue Eagles RC Club will review emails and select the first 15 received based on time stamps.
The camp will introduce students to the principles of aerodynamics and expose them to career opportunities available in the field of aviation. Campers will be introduced to models and flight simulators and will build gliders and observe performance characteristics. Students will also fly both U-Control and radio control aircraft. Experienced RC pilots will offer demonstrations of various forms of flight, including rockets, helicopters, aerobatic and turbine-powered jets.
The camp will be held at Agate Skyways, 888 E. Antelope Road, the first and third days of the camp, and at Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport the second day. Masks will be optional at Agate Field and required at the airport.
