Canceled and rescheduled events in the Rogue Valley
The following is a list of outdoor events in Southern Oregon that were canceled because of smoke in the Rogue Valley, as well as indoor events that were canceled due to coronavirus concerns.

Ashland City Band
The Ashland City Band concert scheduled for Thursday evening, Aug. 19, is canceled. All performances through the end of August also are canceled.
Ashland Hill Climb
The 15 mile trail running race that ends atop Mt. Ashland has been rescheduled for Sept. 18. The race serves as a fundraiser for the Ashland Woodlands & Trails Association. For information and to register for the new date, ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?dtid=44176.
Beekman Bank Tours
The “behind the counter” tours of the Pacific Northwest’s oldest financial institution are canceled for the rest of the summer because of extreme temperatures, unhealthy air, the local surge in coronavirus cases and an air conditioner that “has now conked out,” according to an email from Historic Jacksonville president Carolyn Kingsnorth. D.A.R.E. Show & Shine and Cruise
The Central Point Police Department car show event originally planned for this Saturday has been rescheduled due to unhealthy air quality for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Twin Creeks Park, 555 Twin Creeks Crossing Loop, Central Point. A cruise along East Pine Street will follow from 6 to 9 p.m. See Facebook.com/CentralPointPD for updates.
Jackson County Library Services
All in-person and outdoor special events at Jackson County library branches have been canceled due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. The library branches remain open, and masks are required. See jcls.org for updates.
Oregon Shakespeare Festival
The Friday, Aug. 13 and Saturday, Oct. 14 performances of “Fannie: The Music and Life of Fannie Lou Hamer” have been canceled due to smoky conditions, according to the festival’s website. Ticket holders will get an email with info about exchange, voucher or donation options. See osfashland.org.
