Pam Marsh to lead Almeda fire ‘path to recovery’ online panel
More than half a dozen officials at the local and state level will share updates on the progress rebuilding Talent and Phoenix in the year since the Almeda fire.
State Rep. Pam Marsh will host a panel webinar titled “Our Path to Recovery: A Report for District 5” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, via Zoom.
Eight leaders — including the mayors of Talent and Phoenix, the county administrator, and State Sen. Jeff Golden — will give updates and answer questions about their work since the fire ravaged the two communities, along with an outline of the recovery work that still remains, according to a release from Marsh’s office.
Marsh’s district represents the Applegate to the Green Springs, and includes Ashland, Talent and Phoenix, along with portions of the Medford, Jacksonville and Ruch areas.
Community leaders such as Unete Center for Farmworker Advocacy Program Coordinator Kathy Keesee and Jackson County Long Term Recovery Group President Lucy Brossard will reflect on the past year and address current needs and challenges.
Those with questions for panelists are asked to email them in advance to Rep.PamMarsh@oregonlegislature.gov.
