The Jackson County Animal Shelter will host a drive-thru vaccination clinic for dogs and cats Saturday.

Pet owners must call 541-774-6654 to make an appointment by Friday so shelter staff can space out people coming through.

The shelter is located at 5595 S. Pacific Highway, between Talent and Phoenix.

Vaccinations must be paid for in cash because payment goes to a veterinarian. Rabies shots for dogs and cats are $10 each. Distemper/parvo booster shots for dogs are $15 each. Distemper/rhino/calici booster shots for cats are $15 each.

Pets that are sick, on antibiotics, in heat or on cortisone products can’t be vaccinated.

Dog licenses are also available during the drive-thru event. The cost of licenses varies based on the number of years of the license and whether the owner receives a discount for veterans or senior citizens 62 and older. When calling to make an appointment, ask the staff about the cost of licensing your dog.

Dog licenses can be paid for with cash, check or with a credit or debit card.

All dogs age six months and older are required by law to be vaccinated for rabies and licenses.

No nail trimming will be done at the drive-thru clinic.
