2 suspects caught, another sought in Eagle Point home invasion robbery
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for one of three suspects believed to have been involved in what police describe as an armed robbery and assault at a marijuana grow off Lake of the Woods Highway near Eagle Point.
At about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon 911 dispatchers took a report of a break-in and armed robbery at a warehouse on Lake Creek Loop near Highway 140, according to a release issued Friday by the sheriff’s office.
The robbery was still in progress by the time sheriff’s deputies, Oregon State Police troopers and Eagle Point police officers arrived on scene. Police detained one of the three suspects at the scene, and two others fled on foot.
A second suspect was captured overnight attempting to hitchhike along Highway 140, according to police.
Police have not yet identified as of Friday morning.
A third suspect — described only as an Asian male potentially armed with a handgun — is still on the loose and should be treated as armed and dangerous. Anyone with knowledge of the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
Detectives from Jackson County’s Major Assault and Death Investigation Unit and Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team are “working several leads” to track down the wanted suspect.
