Talent launches holiday Adopt A Family program

Residents can drop off gifts for local families at Talent City Hall.

City of Talent and Jackson County Fire District No. 5 employees are inviting the community to join them in an Adopt A Family program that will bring gifts and food to local families in need.

People can stop by Talent City Hall, 110 E. Main St., and pick up a gift tag from a holiday tree set up in the building. Each tag has the first name of one family member and that person’s sex, age and a suggested gift from a wish list for the person. After buying the gift, return it to City Hall unwrapped or in an open gift bag or box with the original gift tag attached to it no later than 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17.

Talent employees are accepting donations of gift bags, boxes, tags and stickers to be used for the presents. They don’t need wrapping paper because they still have an ample supply from donations in previous years.

People can also donate nonperishable food at drop boxes set up at the Talent fire station of Jackson County Fire District No. 5, at 5811 S. Pacific Highway, also known as Highway 99.

Adopted families will receive a holiday dinner basket with a turkey and several nonperishable food items. All gifts and dinner baskets will be delivered by a Fire District 5 fire truck.
