The Oregon Department of Transportation asks motorists headed towards the California border to be prepared for detours and delays while the Siskiyou Summit undergoes road maintenance.

Southbound Interstate 5 will be detoured between Exit 6 and the Oregon border Monday due to contractors performing rock scaling road maintenance, according to an ODOT press release.

Motorists with oversize loads will be escorted through the freeway’s work zone.

The delays could last between 20 minutes and two hours, according to an ODOT alert earlier this morning about the delay online.
