Grants Pass schools start search for new superintendent, roll out survey
The search for a new superintendent for Grants Pass School District 7 is on.
Applications for the top position are being accepted until Feb. 14, the district stated in a news release Tuesday. The new superintendent will replace Kirk Kolb, who decided not to renew his contract, which expires in June.
While applications for the job come in, a week-long online survey will be launched Jan. 12 to get feedback on the qualities they’d like to see in the next superintendent and insight into some of the challenges that person may face.
Once the survey concludes, a private search firm will compile and provide survey results to the district’s board of education to “assist them in developing superintendent qualifications and leadership characteristics to guide the search,” according to the news release.
The board plans to name a new superintendent by the spring.
