SOU alum gets engaged at the Super Bowl

Los Angeles Rams video still, via Twitter Los Angeles Rams safety Taylor Rapp, left, proposes to Southern Oregon University alum Dani Johnson Sunday after the Rams won Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

A Southern Oregon University grad has more than one reason to celebrate after saying yes to her fiance after he’d just helped his team win the Super Bowl.

Dani Johnson, SOU class of 2019, said yes to Los Angeles Rams safety Taylor Rapp Sunday night, after Rapp proposed to her on the 30 yard line of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, according to a Facebook post from the Southern Oregon University Alumni Association.

The video of Rapp’s proposal, shared by the NFL team on its Facebook and Twitter pages, followed the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI win against the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20.

Mail Tribune archives show that Johnson was a standout on the SOU Raider volleyball team who helped the Raiders get to the quarterfinal round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics championship in November 2018. At the time, it was the deepest run in the volleyball team’s history.
