MADGE seizes 10 lbs. of meth in Medford

A Medford man faces a string of felony drug charges after police reportedly caught him with more than 10 pounds of methamphetamine, including five pounds allegedly found in a home shared with a 5-year-old girl.

Bruno Osorio-Lopez, 22, was arrested Wednesday night after police allegedly witnessed him throwing five pounds of meth from his vehicle during a traffic stop near Oak and West Second streets, according to documents filed by the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force in Jackson County Circuit Court.

Police said they also found an ounce of cocaine and three ounces of heroin. Osorio-Lopez allegedly admitted having the drugs and consented to a search of his bedroom in the 600 block of Palm Street.

Osorio-Lopez shared the home with a girlfriend and her 5-year-old daughter, according to an affidavit filed by police.

Osorio-Lopez remained held in the Jackson County Jail Monday morning on $500,000 bail pending felony counts of manufacturing, delivering and possessing methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine.

The Jackson County District Attorney’s Office said it intends to seek stiffer penalties in the case on grounds that Osorio-Lopez was on probation at the time of his arrest for a 2021 impaired driving conviction. His next court appearance was scheduled for Thursday.
