ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum needs volunteers to help with their field trip program. Field trip volunteers work with the education team to deliver exciting museum field trips for visiting classes of local K-5 students on weekday mornings. Volunteers will interact with visiting students during museum exploration time and in small group interactions during hands-on lessons led by staff. General museum volunteers are also needed.
The Thrift Shop by Rogue Retreat is looking for volunteers. Current volunteer needs include help picking up donations, sorting and pricing donations, and displaying items. Help is also needed with social media and setting up special events. Funds raised at the thrift shop help to provide supportive services to people experiencing homelessness in our community. Have fun and help your community at the same time.
Rogue Retreat is looking for volunteers who have grant writing experience. Help is needed to research, write, and proofread grants.
Age Wise Age Well is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide peer counseling to older adults that are experiencing issues related to aging such as grief, loss, anxiety, isolation, adjusting to new illness, and many others. No experience needed, volunteer counselors are trained to meet with clients one on one and provide emotional support and guidance to seniors referred to the program. This opportunity is only for volunteers 55 and older.
Volunteer drivers are needed. The Call-A-Ride medical transportation program is in need of volunteer drivers to transport local homebound seniors to their medical appointments in Jackson County. Drivers use their own vehicles and mileage reimbursement is provided. COVID-19 safety policies are in place. This opportunity is only for volunteers 55 and older.
