Motorcyclist killed in crash near Selma

A Grants Pass man has died in the aftermath of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Redwood Highway.

Gregory Williams, 48, was riding his Janus motorcycle southbound on Highway 199 about 12:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon, when for unknown reasons he left the roadway outside Selma at mile marker 16 and crashed into a highway guardrail, according to a release issued Monday from Oregon State Police.

Williams was ejected from the motorcycle, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

For about three hours after the crash, Highway 199 was reduced from three lanes down to two lanes for approximately three hours Sunday afternoon. Illinois Valley Fire District, AMR Ambulance Service paramedics and Oregon Department of Transportation road crews provided assistance at the scene.
