Havurah Synagogue

The synagogue in Ashland will hold a two-session online class on prayers written by and for women titled “The Devotions of Our Mothers” at 6 p.m. Thursdays, May 5 and 12 via Zoom. Cyrise Beatty Schachter will discuss 16th and 17th century Jewish prayers and devotions called Techinnot that were printed in Yiddish primarily for women and often written by women. The class describes the writings as “fascinating in their preservation of the daily lives and spiritual worlds of our female ancestors.” Cost is a suggested donation of between $8 and $18.
