Back to fifth grade
Nancy Pelosi suggested that President Trump delay his State of the Union speech. An angry Trump wouldn’t let Nancy go to Afghanistan. When I was in the fifth grade I suggested some rule changes to our neighborhood baseball game. An angry Janes Leech took his ball and left, so there was no game. If you have been having trouble understanding our president for the past two years, just go back to your fifth grade memories.
Stop Jordan Cove
I am just an ordinary citizen like all of you. I have lived in the Medford, Central Point area since 1963. I have fallen in love with these beautiful surroundings. It would be devastating to me to see it destroyed by the Jordan Cove pipeline. All this company cares about is “How much money can we get out of this project.” The jobs it promises only last a short while and then they are gone. What remains is devastated forests and land, contaminated waterways, killing off our fish and wildlife, more risk of fires, higher risk during earthquakes and tsunamis and more pollutants in our air.
Why would we add more poison to the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we drink? This would be an inevitable.
Please do what you can to stop this outcome.
The greater threat
Putin must be pleased. Trump decided to tweet a retreat from Syria without any input from advisers, prompting the departure of the only grownup left in the White House. He scorns experts, claiming, “My gut tells me more sometimes than anybody else’s brain can ever tell me.” Just what we need: a so-called president with his head up his gut.
He celebrated the holidays by throwing the lives and paychecks of 800,000 workers into turmoil over a wall the American people don’t want. Republicans didn’t fund it when they controlled Congress, so he said he’d be proud to shut down the government and take the blame. He promptly blamed Democrats and denied saying that Mexico would pay for it. That’s why his lawyers don’t want him interviewed by Mueller: putting such a compulsive liar under oath constitutes entrapment.
The guy who groveled before Putin in Helsinki and “fell in love” with Kim Jong Un calls non-white immigrants a security threat. Incredibly, some still believe he’s making America great again. You can fool some of the people all the time. We’d all be better off if Trump kept his promise to replace “Obamacare” with something better and cheaper that covered everyone.
