Help restore Bear Creek

Bear Creek Restoration Initiative is a working group that provides leadership on how stewardship along the Bear Creek corridor can provide public safety, fire resilience and recreation while maintaining clean air, clean water, open space, and fish and wildlife habitat. If you’re interested in how those values can be achieved along the most urban stream in Southern Oregon, visit our website and review the information on the “Restoration Values” tab.

The BCRI website may help you respond to the Envision Bear Creek survey that Jackson County, the cities and their other partners released in late August (it is open through Sept. 18). No matter how you interact with Bear Creek (whether you live along it, use the Greenway for recreation or transportation, or feel better knowing that salmon have a place to spawn), your priorities are important. Provide your input on future management by taking the survey.

Bear Creek, the Greenway and the entities that manage them need your perspective.

Supporting Krause

Dr. Denise Krause is my choice for Jackson County commissioner.

Denise has a rich background as she has personally experienced lean times, single motherhood, farming, political infighting, and working with the Jackson County commissioners to address an issue.

Through hard work and academic achievement, Denise rose from a secretary to a high level university position managing 6,000 people. Using her creativity and organizing ability she was able to improve medical care throughout the entire state of Mississippi.

Having thoroughly researched the issues in our county, Denise knows how to bring diverse people together to collaborate on solving problems such as homelessness, affordable housing, adequate water, fire protection and access to mental health and addiction services.

Not only is she a compassionate person who listens to people because she cares about people, but Denise also has the ability to make county government work to benefit all the people of Jackson County.
