  • The Ashland Historic Railroad Museum features railroad and telegraph exhibits from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday on the second floor of the A Street Arts Building, 258 A. St., No. 7, Ashland. Admission is free. Call 488-2131.
  • The Crater Rock Museum and Gift Shop at 2002 Scenic Ave., Central Point, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Operated by the Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral Society, the museum displays rocks, minerals, geodes, agates, petrified wood, lapidary arts, American Indian artifacts and dinosaur fossils.   • The Friends of the Talent Library will host a free event, "BirdSong: Birds as Metaphor in American Folk Music," from 2 to 3 p.m. today at the Talent library, 101 Home St., Talent. Presenter Jeni Foster will explore the symbolism of birds within the rich heritage of American folk music. Bird flight and birdsong provide lyrical and potent metaphors for life, love, freedom, death and spirituality in cultures throughout the world. Foster weaves both traditional and contemporary folk songs throughout her narrative to expand upon the stories of everyday Americans and well-known moments in history. She invites audience members to sing along on the choruses of songs chosen to illustrate her program. Call 535-4163.

TUESDAY

The Talent Juggling Club meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the gymnasium at Talent Elementary School, 307 W. Wagner Creek Road, Talent. All jugglers, beginning to advanced, are welcome. Call 535-1163.

WEDNESDAY

A supervised after-school art workshop for children 6 and older is held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through June 4 at the Rogue Gallery and Art Center, 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford. This class follows the Medford School District's schedule and is not held on school holidays or spring breaks. Cost is $3 per hour, per child and includes art supplies. Projects include weaving, sculpting, drawing, watercolor and others. Call 772-8118.

FRIDAY

Kids of all ages can enjoy stories about bugs, bears, birds, jungles and other nature subjects at 10:30 a.m. Fridays at the Northwest Nature Shop, 154 Oak St., Ashland. Admission is free. Call 482-3241.
