Dean's list

Nathan Kobinsky, son of Jack Kobinsky and Emily Miller of Medford and a senior at the University of Arizona, qualified for the fall 2008 term dean's list with distinction (full-time student; straight A's). Kobinsky is double-majoring in Spanish and geography. He graduated from South Medford High School in 2005.

Nicholas Famoso of Gold Hill has been named to the fall 2008 semester dean's list at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. The School of Mines is an engineering and science university in Rapid City, S.D. Famoso is majoring in geology. To qualify for the dean's list, undergraduate students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester and carry 12 or more credit hours.

Matthew Ryan Warner of Ashland; McKenzie Jason Baker and Bryan Erik Kluherz, both of Central Point; and Andrea Katherine Mytinger of Medford qualified for the fall 2008 president's list at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. To qualify for the president's list, students must earn a grade-point average of 3.75 in at least nine graded hours in a single term or a GPA of 3.5 based on at least 15 cumulative hours of graded work.

Adam Higgins, a 2008 graduate of North Medford High School, has earned a place on the dean's list at The W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. Dean's list recognition is awarded to students who were enrolled in 12 or more credit hours and earned a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester.

William H. Lehmann of Central Point has been named to the fall 2008 semester dean's list at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo. The honor roll consists of regularly enrolled undergraduates above freshman standing who earned a 3.4 or better grade-point average, and freshmen who earned a 3.25 or better GPA. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for a letter grade.

Jangmi Baik of Medford and Kendall Ryan Gielow of Eagle Point qualified for the fall 2008 semester dean's list at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. To be eligible for the dean's list, students must earn a minimum 3.5 grade-point average while taking at least 12 graded credit hours of classes.

The following students from the Medford area recently were listed on the fall 2008 semester dean's list at the University of Portland. Students need at least a 3.5 grade-point average to be eligible for the dean's list.

Medford: Lacey Hall, freshman, biology; Hannah Taft, junior, biology; Rachel Philip, sophomore, business; Joseph Parks, junior, biochemistry; Joshua Parks, junior, biochemistry; Hillary Burrelle, junior, drama; Heather Petersen, senior, drama; Richard Kaimie, junior, finance; Nicholas Nieto, senior, operations technology management; and Mara Bauermeister, freshman, undeclared.

Devin Swanson, son of Dan Swanson and Stacey Kerns, was named to the fall 2008 semester dean's list at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo. Swanson is a 2005 graduate of Crater High School in Central Point.

To qualify for the dean's list, students must maintain a minimum of a 3.6 grade-point average during the semester and carry at least 15 credit hours.
