Worship service for those with disabilities

Faith Lutheran Church will offer a Jesus Cares Worship at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at 1773 S. Columbus Ave., Medford. The service will follow a simplified format appropriate for people with cognitive disabilities, including people with forms of dementia. Pictures and symbols will lead participants through the service, and simple rhythm instruments will allow non-readers and those who are non-verbal to participate.

Valentine's Day gospel concert

A keyboard gospel concert featuring music from the hymnal and classic love songs will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Upper Rogue Community Center, 22465 Highway 62, Shady Cove.

Pieces to be performed include the music of Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Nat King Cole and Elvis. Requests will be accepted, and a salad and dessert potluck will be held at intermission. Admission is free, and donations will be accepted. Call 541-531-6544.

Global Heart Game Night at CSL

The Center for Spiritual Living Rogue Valley will hold a Global Heart Game Night from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at The Haven, 1970 Ashland St., Ashland. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite board game to play.

Author and interim spiritual director Neale Donald Walsch will present "What Ernest Holmes Taught" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at 3581 Lear Way, Medford. Cathy Bolton will provide music during the service, and a guided meditation will be at 10 a.m. The short film "Sound Healing" will be shown following the worship service as part of the center's "Spiritual Cinema" series."

A spiritual study group will continue its discussion of book five of the "Conversations With God" series by Walsch at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the center. Books are furnished. See www.cslroguevalley.org.

Guest speaker at St. Mark's

The men of St. Mark's Episcopal Church will meet for breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the church parish hall, 140 N. Oakdale Ave., Medford.

The church will hold its worship service at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, in the sanctuary. Dr. Patrick Gillette will speak about "Understanding the Healthy Brain" during an adult forum at 9:10 a.m. The presentation is the first in a series titled "Keep Your Mind for Later Use." Along with tips to keep the brain healthy, Gillette will share the latest information about dementia.

The men of St. Mark's will prepare the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17.

The church will observe Ash Wednesday with two services at noon and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the church. Medford First Presbyterian services

Pastor Murray Richmond will give a sermon titled "You Stay Here" during worship services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at First Presbyterian Church of Medford, 85 S. Holly St., Medford. An informal service is offered at 8:30 a.m., and a traditional service with full choir and pipe organ will be at 10:30 a.m.

Ascension Lutheran services

Ascension Lutheran Church will hold a book sale for the benefit of the SMART reading program from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the church, 675 Black Oak Drive, Medford.

The church will observe Transfiguration Sunday during its worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15.

MCUCC services

Choral directors Lynn Sjolund, Pete Nordquist and Marcia Katzmar will lead the music during a worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St., Medford.

An Ash Wednesday service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18. Imposition of ashes will be available, and liturgy will involve fire and water.

RVUUF service explores wishes

Rev. Nan White will present "From Ashes to Wishes: A Hopeful Journey" during the worship service at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland. Zion Lutheran to offer Lenten services

Following Ash Wednesday, Zion Lutheran Church, 516 W. Fourth St., Medford, will hold weekly services at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays through the Lenten season. A soup supper will precede each of the services at 6 p.m.

Whole food cooking demonstration

Healthy Living Ministries, the temperance ministry of the Central Point Seventh-day Adventist Church, 625 N. 10th St., Central Point, will hold a plant-based luncheon at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22.
