Bethel at Vista Pointe

A dessert fundraiser for Joni and Friends Southern Oregon, a local disability ministry of Joni Eareckson Tada, is planned at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Bethel Church, 4245 Vista Pointe Drive, Medford. The evening will feature music and testimony by families and volunteers who have been impacted by JAFSO. Guest speaker is Jim Achilles. The event is free, but reservations are required. Center for Spiritual Living

Westminster Presbyterian

A workshop called "Surviving the Holidays" will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Drive, Medford. The workshop is designed for those who have lost a loved one and need resources for getting through the holidays, which can be a painful time for those grieving. Participants will be divided up into small groups to share, and all who attend will be given the opportunity to light a candle in memory of a loved one. Participants will receive a “Surviving the Holidays” booklet. Light refreshments will be served. A donation of $10 is asked, but no one will be turned away because of an inability to pay.
