Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church

Great Vespers will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church, Shoppes at Exit 24, 205 Fern Valley Road, Suite Z, Phoenix. Matins will be held at 8 a.m. Sunday, March 13, with Sunday school for children. Divine Liturgy starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch. Orthodox Lent will be introduced at 4 p.m. with Forgiveness Vespers. 

Midday prayers will not be held at 11:45 a.m. the week of March 13, as there will be 6 a.m. Matins services Monday through Thursday, pre-sanctified liturgy at 7 a.m. Friday and daily at 6 p.m. Lenten services (5:30 p.m. on Friday). For information, call Father Andreas Blom at 541-690-8822.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church

First Presbyterian Church, Medford

Pastor Murray Richmond’s Lenten message will be “Politics of Imitation” at an 8:30 a.m. informal service and 10:30 a.m. traditional service, Sunday, March 13, at First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford. The informal service will feature contemporary music, and the traditional service will have a choir and pipe organ music.

Medford Congregational United Church of Christ

The Rev. Kurt Katzmar will discuss what the ancient concept of “Messiah" could mean in the 21st century at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 13, at Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St., Medford. “Embracing Adult Faith," a video adult study series, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church social hall. Register through the church office. Katzmar offers an adult study series about faith journeys at 7 p.m. Mondays in Lidgate Hall.
