Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church

A Vigil for Transfiguration begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church, in the Shoppes at Exit 24, 205 Fern Valley Road, Suite Z, Phoenix. The Divine Liturgy for the Feast of the Transfiguration will be served at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, with the blessing of fruits and grapes following. Great Vespers will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 6. Divine Liturgy will be served at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, following 8 a.m. Matins prayers. A Sunday potluck will observe fasting guidelines of mostly vegetarian foods and shellfish in honor of the Dormition Fast, which continues until Aug. 15.

Matins starts at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, in honor of St. Herman of Alaska. Vespers begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, with Divine Liturgy following Thursday, Aug. 11. For more information, call Father Andreas Blom at 541-690-8822.

Faith Lutheran Church
