Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church

Great Vespers will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church, in the Shoppes at Exit 24, 205 Fern Valley Road, Suite Z, Phoenix. Divine Liturgy will be served at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, following Matins prayers at 8 a.m. The potluck will observe fasting guidelines of mostly vegetarian foods and shellfish in honor of the Dormition Fast, which continues until Aug. 15. At 5:30 p.m. Sunday there will be a vigil in preparation for the Feast of Dormition.

Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in honor of the Dormition of the Mother of God at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, followed by a blessing of flowers. Matins begins at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16. Vespers will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17. For more information call Father Andreas Blom at 541-690-8822.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church

Holy Eucharist will be held at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 140 N. Oakdale Ave., Medford. Children’s Sunday school is at 10 a.m. A potluck picnic for Sunday school children and their families will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Don Jones Memorial Park in Central Point. First Presbyterian Church, Medford

Pastor Murray Richmond’s message is “A Very Holy Vintage” for the 8:30 a.m. informal service and 10:30 a.m. traditional service Sunday, Aug. 14, at First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford. The informal service features contemporary music and the traditional service usually has a full Chancel Choir and Shoenstein Pipe Organ music. The choir is on recess. Table Rock Bible Church

A Martin Luther Conference will be held Sunday, Aug. 14, at Table Rock Bible Church, 10545 Table Rock Road, Central Point. The topic is "The Theology of Martin Luther: What Was the Reformation About?" Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

The Rev. Margaret Keip of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Grants Pass will exchange pulpits with the Rev. Nan L. White, and she will reflect on courage and risk, inspired by an anecdote about the Flying Wallendas, the near-legendary high wire act, during the service at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland.
