Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church

Great Vespers begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church, in the Shoppes at Exit 24, 205 Fern Valley Road, Suite Z. On Sunday, Nov. 20, Matins prayers begin at 8 a.m. followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. with a vegetarian potluck after following fasting guidelines; fish is allowed. At 5:30 p.m.. a vigil will be served.

At 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, a special Liturgy begins. Brief midday prayers are offered at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Vespers will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, followed by a question-and-answer session on Orthodoxy at 7 p.m. On Thursday, Nov. 24, a Moleben prayer service will begin at 7 a.m. For information, call Father Andreas Blom at 541-690-8822.

St. Andrews Anglican Church

On Sunday, Nov. 20, St. Andrews Anglican Church, 305 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville will celebrate the Sunday Next Before Advent with a Holy Communion service beginning at 10:30 a.m. The church will celebrate Holy Communion Thursday Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day, at 10:30 a.m.

Trinity Episcopal Church

Celtic Evensong, a quiet, candlelight, reflective service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday Nov. 20 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 44 N. Second St., Ashland. Gratitude is the theme that will be expressed through music directed by Bob Adams, cantor Marianne Adams, a poem by Rumi, "The Guest House," and a reflection by Sarah Seybold, a church member.
