Medford Friends Church
Phoenix High School graduate Rich Swingle, a former Medford Friends Church attendee who now lives in New York City and ministers around the world using drama and acting, will be at Medford Friends Church, 525 DeBarr Ave., Sunday, March 12. He will perform a one-man play he wrote called "The Acts." Worship begins at 9:30 a.m.
His Valley Church
An old-fashioned revival will be held at His Valley Church, 4812 S. Pacific Highway, Phoenix, from Wednesday, March 15 through Saturday, March 18. Services will begin at 6 p.m. Speakers are Pastors Harmon and Carol Dickey, who were pastors in the Rogue Valley for several years. Admission is free, and child care will be provided.

Havurah Shir Hadash
The Havurah, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland, will hold a free Purim celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 11. The story of Queen Esther of Persia is acted in playback theater style — in the most silly of ways. Kids and families welcome. Costumes encouraged. Call 541-488-7716 for more information.
First United Methodist Church
Church of the Rogue/First United Methodist Church, 607 W. Main St., Medford, will hold a free workshop on how to make mats for the homeless out of plarn (plastic yarn) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11. The workshop will teach participants how to make plarn out of grocery bags and how to weave the plarn into mats and pillows. (It takes approximately 800 bags to make one mat, keeping those bags out of the landfill.) Bring a sack lunch, scissors and clean grocery bags. Drinks provided.
