Adopt a Pet

AGE: One-year-old Calypso is an interesting mix of Catahoula Leopard Dog and Australian cattle dog/blue heeler. Even more interesting, she’s completely deaf!

PERSONALITY: She is curious, alert and likes to explore her surrounds. Sometimes a little too much, as she has been known to climb fences to explore even more. She loves rides in the car and walkies.

HIGHLIGHTS: Calypso will need specialized training to understand her surroundings, and would thrive in an adult-only or older children home, as she startles easily. She is social, and would love to join a home with another dog for companionship and to show her the ropes.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Hwy., between Talent and Phoenix, open 7 days a week.

COST: Calypso’s adoption fee is $95, and you get a free one-hour in-home training and wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Calypso is spayed.
