Today’s Workout: Triceps move can be performed on the go
Whether you need your fitness on the go or just a simple change from the norm, making small changes to the equipment you use can make all the difference.
Many of us travel for work, and between work schedules and gym access, you have to become creative with your workouts. The same thing goes for those needing variety in their exercises.
Our move today is a standing triceps extension with the band. All you need is a resistance band. This exercise will focus on the triceps, which are the back of the upper arm. Your chest will be getting toned as well. And the best part is a resistance band can fold up and go in any purse or luggage.
Begin this move by standing tall. Place one or both feet on the resistance band and grasp one of the handles with the hand of the arm that you choose to start with.
Extend your starting arm straight up. Keep the palm of your hand forward facing, and tuck your elbow in near your head. Your resistance band should be pulled tightly at this point. You can hold the other handle, and place your non-working arm on your hip or keep the handle on the ground. You may want to use your non-working hand for guidance and position with the working arm.
Now let’s move! Proceed to bend in the elbow dropping the upper part of your arm toward the backside of your body, loosening the tension in the band. Continue this tricep extension by lowering and lifting for at least 10 repetitions. As soon as you complete one set on your first arm, switch to the other side.
Continue this movement from side to side for at least three sets each. If you choose to guide your arm, simply reach over the top of your head and place your fingers gently around the elbow of the working arm.
If you need more tension, tighten the band. If it is too tight, simply loosen the tension.
This move is simple and easy to do anywhere, whether it’s at home, in the gym or your hotel room. So, no excuses.
