Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church
Bright Week services will conclude with Divine Liturgy at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox church in the Shoppes at Exit 24, 205 Fern Valley Road, Suite Z. A potluck brunch will be shared following the service, including cutting of the Artos bread. Great Vespers will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday. Thomas Sunday Matins will be prayed at 8 a.m. Sunday, April 15, followed at 9:30 a.m. with Divine Liturgy. After Liturgy a potluck meal will be shared, enjoying all the varieties of festal foods of the Paschal season. Vespers will be offered at 6 p.m. Monday, April 16. At 7 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, Divine Liturgy will be served for the Day of Rejoicing, Radonitza, followed by special memorial prayers for all loved ones who have reposed. Rabbi David Zaslow will lead songs and prayers for welcoming the Shabbat at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the Havurah Synagogue, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Debra Zaslow will share a story, and Rabbi David will lead a discussion on the nature of Kosher eating, the relevance of these laws today, and will look at whether they need to change or be adjusted to deal with the ethical treatment of workers and animals. Rabbi Sue Morningstar will join Rabbi David at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, for a Torah service. First Presbyterian Church, Medford
Pastor Murray Richmond will speak at both the 8:30 a.m. informal service and 10:30 a.m. traditional service Sunday, April 15, at First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford. The informal service features more contemporary music led by the Son Shine Singers in a casual atmosphere in the Fellowship Hall.
