The Southern Oregon basketball title was clinched by Medford last night when the locals defeated Ashland in the third consecutive game by the score of 28 to 11. The local girls lost their game to the Ashland girls by a score of 11 to 8.

Except for a near fist encounter between Olmstead of Medford and one of the Ashland guards, the game was lacking in sensational features. Almost perfect team work marked the performance of the locals.

Matters stood even at the end of the first half with Medford playing easily and keeping pace with the Ashland team which was endeavoring to get away with a lead. The Olmstead incident served to awaken the Medford quintet and in a whirlwind windup in the second half boosted the score to 28 while holding the Ashland squad scoreless.

The girls game was closely contested throughout. Ashland now has two out of three games of the games played, with the edge over the local girls in the series which will end with the final game at Ashland tonight.
