William Scott Howard Jr.
Bill was — born in Manhattan, KS, August 15, 1934. He was a 1957 graduate of the — University of Missouri, Columbia. He attended graduate school at the University — of Indiana, Bloomington. He was an Army veteran. He was a founder of Insurance — Publications, Inc. and publisher emeritus of Broker World magazine. He — was presented with the 1989 Mooers Award by the National Association of — Independent Life Brokerage Agencies.
Bill was — a long-time supporter of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Leukemia — Society. He was a man of varied and intense interests. He loved opera, — classical and jazz music, gourmet cooking, reading, theater, collecting — masks, travel, fine wine and good food.
He is survived — by his wife of 47 years, Carole A. Howard, and his son, Stephen P. Howard, — Lenexa, KS. He also leaves a sister, Susanna DeWeese, Dallas, TX, and — a nephew, Cris Holden, Carson City, NV.
