Anita N. Parent
A graveside service for Anita Norma Parent will be 10 a.m. Friday at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland. A visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
Mrs. Parent, 89, of Ashland, died Thursday, August 4, 2005 at a local foster care home.
She was born November 14, 1915 in Round Up, Montana, the daughter of Christina and Valentine Paganini. On March 1, 1948 she married Eugene (Knute) F. Parent who preceded her in death in 1974. She had lived in the Rogue Valley most of her life.
Anita enjoyed working, cooking wonderful Italian home-style meals, gardening, sewing and talking and listening to her family and friends.
She was a successful business woman with investments in real estate. She was known for her kind heart. She had a knack for bringing out the best in those around her and made each grandchild feel as if they were the most blessed.
She was a fantastic grandmother, mother, mother-in-law, step mother, and foster mother. Anita will be remembered for her friendly caring spirit, her frankness, her strong work ethic and her love of everyone.
She is survived by four sons, Larry Glines, Jerry Glines, Mike Parent, and Tony Parent; one sister Jeannie Byers; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene (Knute) Parent, step-son Gene Parent, sisters, Renee Wait, Laura Vergo, and Lena Grango, and half brother Paul Bettiol.
She will be greatly missed by friends, neighbors, and family alike.
