Kittie R. Decker

Kittie Rae Decker, 88, of Medford (formerly of Ashland) died Thursday (August 18, 2005) at Farmington Square, Medford. At her request, no services are planned. Her ashes will be scattered by air over her beloved Ashland.

She was born on May 8, 1917, in Childress, TX to William and Eddie Helms. On March 7, 1941, in Amarillo, TX she married George A. Robertson, who preceded her in death on March 14, 1979. In December 1982 she married Clifford P. Decker, who preceded her in death in 1994. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1950 from Rome, GA.

Mrs. Decker received her teaching degree in 1956 from SOSC. She taught at Walker Elementary in Ashland for 22 years.

She loved horseback riding, Rv&

39;ing (Good Sam Club), cross country skiing, playing bingo and traveling. One of the highlights of her travels was going through the Panama Canal.

Survivors include her daughter, Francine E. Mitchell and her husband Eldon; her sister-in-law, Florence Helms of Amarillo, TX; three step-grandsons and their wives; seven step-great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Minnie Kincannon, two brothers, Robert S. and Napolean Bonaparte Helms. Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
